I have tried to calculate the time I have spent on painting in my lifetime and I'm finding it a difficult task. At age 6 or 7, I began drawing and painting in formal lessons a few hours a week and more during my free time. In college, I spent almost every hour creating. Then, fewer hours during my corporate career, though I did manage to do a few paintings. Since leaving the corporate world in 2010, I have devoted a great deal more time to my art and starting last year, I really began to put in some serious hours.
By my best rough calculation, I should be approaching the 10,000 hour mark very soon. I'm hoping it shows in my work and I don't plan to slack off anytime soon.
What activities have you devoted 10,000 hours to in your life?
